About Naming System
Akan names are derived from Ghanian culture. Frequently in Ghana, children are given their first name as a 'day name' which corresponds to the day in the week they were born. Here are Ghanian day names. The table shows the names given to either male or female depending on the day they were born.

About the System
The main aim of Akan Naming System is to help people know the day of the week they were born. The system will require a person to submit their date of birth to able to know the day of the week they were born and the name given to them depending on their gender.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Enter your year of birth, followed by the month of the year and then the day of the month you were born.
- Click on "getAkanName" to continue.
- Enter your gender,either male or female in the pop screen and click "OK" to continue to see your date of birth in the format of mm/dd/yy.
- Click "OK" to know know the day of the week you were born and your respective Akan name.
